Privacy Policy

The data controller is Francisco Aldunate Rodríguez (StarMap), based in Talca, Chile. You can reach us at contacto@starmap.cl. We do not create user accounts and we never sell your data.

1. What data we use and why

Your map details (date, time, place, titles and messages) are processed in your browser to draw the map. We do not store them on our servers.
Place search: the place name you type is looked up on OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) through our server to get its coordinates. We do not store it.
Payments are processed by Creem (outside Chile) or MercadoPago (in Chile). They receive your name, email and payment method under their own privacy policies. We only receive the payment confirmation, the amount and a transaction ID.
Temporary order record: we keep a random identifier and the product purchased for up to 48 hours so your download can be unlocked.
Your email address, if you contact us, is used only to reply to you.

2. Cookies and analytics

Essential cookies: they unlock your download after payment and last between 2 hours and 7 days. Your purchase cannot be downloaded without them.
Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics: visit statistics such as pages viewed, approximate country and device type.
TikTok Pixel: measures whether our TikTok ads lead to visits and purchases.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

3. Where data is processed

The website runs on Vercel and the temporary order record is stored with Upstash. These providers may process data outside Chile, including in the United States.

4. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data by emailing contacto@starmap.cl. We reply within 15 days. If you live in the EU or the UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

5. Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

6. Changes

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its date.
